New Drekport System: Beloch - Part 1

The Warp Foundries - WIP

As you have probably noticed, I have recently designed the system map of New Drekport and written some fluff for each planet.
I did it because, unlike for our Age of Sigmar campaigns set in Saul's wonderful Harrowmark, we were missing a setting where varied Warhammer 40,000 forces could fight. Tor Megiddo and Commorragh are great settings, but their greatness stems from their narrow narrative focus.

We also have terrains, like Blessed Knight's jungle and my Imperial structures, that saw very little action as we had no story to go with them. The Malfactus Rift campaign was an attempt, but it fizzled out shortly after the 8th edition of 40k was released. Now the jungle terrain is the planet of Imeria, and the Imperial structures can be used to represent parts of New Drekport itself.

Saul is working on add-ons for his Tor Megiddo and Harromark boards so that they will represent Duskhurn and Morrdragor. Which left me with the pleasure of working on the Chaos hives of Beloch.

For them, I've started from the Alchomite Stack that I had from Shadow War: Armageddon, and combined it with parts from the Malign Sorcery Endless spell. By pure chance, I realised that all the round shapes in the Endless Spells fit with the diameters of the Sector Mechanicus kits, whether those of whole assembed models or those of details such as the pipe inlets.

The Purple Sun was missing some of the individual rays, so I've clipped all the others, except those needed to attach the model to the dome, and covered gaps and damaged areas with greenstuff.

I've attached the Gemind of Uhl-Gysh, glued at their bases, to the chimneys, sculpting the trails of energy around them with greenstuff. The clipped ends of the energy trail were turned into smoke coming out from the chimneys.

The upturned boiler was filled with half of the Malevolent Maelstrom. Then, I glued Zombie and Ghoul arms to the sides, sculpting the warped metal with greeenstuff.

All three pieces are on bases made from the old movement trays. Their sides all measures multiples of 3cm, so that they will fit, if we want to, on top of the towers I will build using the remaining parts from the Alchomite Stack and a Ferratonic Incinerator.
